Louise Morrish is a librarian and author who lives with her family and canine writing buddy in Hampshire. She has worked in all sorts of libraries in her thirty year career, including public libraries, private collections, and both primary and secondary school libraries. Over the years, she has catalogued, shelved, and championed tens of thousands of other people’s books, whilst secretly nurturing an ambition to be published herself. Her dream of seeing her own book on a shelf came true when her debut novel, Operation Moonlight, won the Penguin Random House First Novel competition in 2019. Her novel was published in 2022, and she is now represented by literary agent LBA Books. Louise is passionate about women’s history. She loves nothing more than discovering the stories of ordinary women in the past who achieved extraordinary things, but whom history has forgotten. She is currently working on a new novel, inspired by two female doctors who were medical pioneers in the First World War.
Dr Alison Weir is the top-selling female historian (and the fifth-bestselling historian overall) in the United Kingdom, and has sold over 3 million books worldwide and done over a thousand events. She has published twenty-one history books, her most recent being Queens of the Age of Chivalry, the third volume of her England’s Medieval Queens quartet. Alison has also published fourteen historical novels, including the Six Tudor Queens series about the wives of Henry VIII, which was launched in 2016 to great critical acclaim; each of the six books was a Sunday Times top-ten bestseller. Alison’s latest novel is Henry VIII: The Heart and the Crown, the second book in the new Tudor Rose series. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an honorary life patron of Historic Royal Palaces. In 2023, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by Bishop Grosseteste University at Lincoln.
