Come along to meet four local authors as they share their journey and their books with you. Moving around to listen each author giving a short talk, you will get to discover some new books and support local authors. There will also be an opportunity to talk to the authors and buy their books.
Richard T. Burke is the author of six novels, including the Decimation trilogy and standalone works, Assassin’s Web and The Colour of the Soul. His books are all thrillers, but some, such as the Decimation series, cross over into the Science Fiction category. His work has also featured in anthologies by Black Spring Press, Bloodhound Books, Corona Books and Bridge House Publishing. He was recently nominated as the winner of a competition judged by Lee Child for the best opening to a crime thriller. After spending over four decades in the engineering industry, Richard retired last year to become a full-time writer.
Felicity Hawes was born in 1988 in Hampshire and currently lives in Farnham, Surrey with her young family. She has been writing fiction for fun on and off for the last decade alongside her ‘normal’ job, and when not writing, loves to spend her time reading and watching football. She has a degree in Primary Education, and is fascinated by the different dynamics that exist within family units, which has influenced her writing style and subject matter. Fragments is her debut novel.
Michael Arnold lives in Hampshire with his wife and 4 children. His interest in British history is lifelong, and childhood holidays were spent visiting castles and battlefields; a passion he now inflicts on his own kids. He is the author of the acclaimed Civil War Chronicles; one of which, Devil’s Charge, was chosen as a Sunday Times Book of the Year. His new series, The Savage Isle, tells the epic story of Britain on the cusp of the Roman conquest, a clash of civilisations and the last cries of resistance from a doomed way of life.
Margot Shepherd is a local author who lives near Haslemere, with her husband and Springer Spaniel, Genni. She writes about family relationships with a particular emphasis on women and science from a female point of view. When she’s not writing she works in medical research at the University of Surrey. Margot has an MA in Creative Writing & Publishing from West Dean College in Sussex for which she received a distinction and the Vice Chancellors prize. Never Closer is her debut novel.
