Join Lennie Goodings, chair of groundbreaking feminist publisher Virago Books, for an entertaining and enlightening insight into the life of a literary editor. Virago was founded in 1973  as a feminist publishing company. Inspired by the political and social change of that decade, the women who created Virago believed passionately that writing by women should be celebrated, enjoyed, taken seriously and read widely. Goodings has worked with a generation of the world’s finest writers including Angela Carter, Maya Angelou, Marilynne Robinson and Margaret Atwood. Unmissable for anyone interested in writing, feminism, literary history and the people behind the books. Part of Oxfam’s work in fighting world poverty is centred around supporting women and gender justice. All proceeds from this event will go directly towards Oxfam projects.
