As chief presenter for BBC News, Reeta Chakrabarti is one of the most recognisable faces in British broadcasting. For over 30 years, she has covered the biggest stories in the world, as unflappable in her presenting style as she is forensic as a journalist. In conversation with former BBC arts correspondent Rebecca Jones, Reeta will discuss her remarkable career and her debut novel Finding Belle, a moving tale of mothers, daughters, betrayal, and madness set against the vibrant streets of Kolkata.

Reeta Chakrabarti is a BBC News presenter and correspondent with three decades of experience. She presents the One, Six and Ten O’Clock News on BBC One, BBC weekend news and also reports at home and abroad. She was previously Education and Social Affairs correspondent, and spent many years reporting politics from Westminster.
Rebecca Jones is a journalist who worked for the BBC for nearly 30 years, as the Arts Correspondent and Chief News Presenter. She regularly hosts events at literary festivals and organisations including the Royal Ballet and Opera. She has judged arts awards, including Museum of the Year and serves on the board of Dancers’ Career Development.
