The winners and runners-up of the Farnham Poetry Competition will be announced at a warm and welcoming awards ceremony, where prize‑winners are encouraged to read their poems. An open‑mic session will follow for anyone who wishes to share their work. After the 17‑and‑under awards are announced, there will be a short interval so children may leave before the over‑18 category is announced.
The judges are Linda Daruvala for the over 18 years-old category and Coral Rumble for all three under 17 years-old categories.
This year, entrants were asked to write a poem based on the theme ‘Peace’ – what does peace mean to you? Where can you find peace? How would the world benefit from peace?
The 2026 competition is organised by Farnham Lions in conjunction with the Parish of Badshot Lea and Hale and supported by Farnham Town Council.
