Jack Jewers
Jack Jewers is a filmmaker and writer. Passionate about telling stories in all media, his body of work crosses film, TV, and digital. His debut novel, THE LOST DIARY OF SAMUEL PEPYS, was named an historical fiction book of the year by The Times. Imagining what the famous diarist might have done next after putting down his pen aged 36, the book cast Pepys as a reluctant detective and agent of the crown’s new secret service. The sequel is due to be published in 2025. Jack has won several accolades for his film work, including an award from the Royal Television Society and a BAFTA nomination. In late 2023 he made headlines worldwide when he sent a portrait of Shakespeare into space as part of inVerse, a series of poetry films that had their first screenings at last year’s Farnham Literary Festival. The films were covered by everyone from CNN to the BBC and were seen by up to a quarter of a billion people.
