Rebecca Fletcher is an experienced literary chair and also the resident host at The Yard Hampshire where she has curated a programme of live author events for the past three years, hosting sell out evenings for a variety of authors and personalities including Nikita Gill, Clover Stroud, Jessie Burton, Viv Groskop, Simon Sebag Montefiore, Minnie Driver, Lorraine Candy, Emma Gannon and Women’s Prize Founder, Kate Mosse to name a few. Her ‘in conversation’ style events have covered numerous topics from music and art to farming and fashion, women’s issues, history, fiction and science. She has also hosted many foodie events with the likes of Dr Rupy Aujla, Thomasina Miers, Dan Saladino and Skye Gyngell as well as Saturday Kitchen’s Helen McGinn.
Other chairing opportunities have included launching Joanne Harris’ novels, A Narrow Door and Broken Light for Orion Publishing, as well as hosting book tour events with Julia Bradbury and Anton du Beke to audience numbers of over 200 (in collaboration with Hungerford Bookshop) as well as a launch at Daunt’s Marylebone for author and painter, SJ Axelby.
As a freelance writer, she has been commissioned to publications such as Country Living UK, Country and Town House Magazine and Hampshire Life Magazine, interviewing authors from Tracy Chevalier and David Nicholls to Santa Montefiore and Chris Packham. Rebecca co-hosts a monthly live book club on Instagram, Are You Sitting Comfortably, with Rebecca Lovatt from @myenglishcountrycottage which has featured a range of authors including Charlotte Mendelson, Kate Morton and Nina Stibbe.
