Welcome to the Farnham Literary Festival where we are celebrating literature in all its forms! Join us next year from the 5th to the 15th of March and immerse yourself in the world of books, novels, poetry, spoken word, illustration, film, theatre, creative writing, flash fiction and more.

Funded by Farnham Town Council and organised by the Blue Bear Bookshop, we are delighted to also be offering a rich programme for local schools. The festival is a celebration of Farnham itself, our wonderful community hubs and interesting buildings, with more venues in use than ever before. Whether you are a seasoned literary festivalgoer or a first timer, come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as you listen to great author talks, panels, readings and performances.

What has been said about Farnham Literary Festival:

The fourth annual Farnham Literary Festival was held between 6th – 16th March 2025 with over 50 events taking place across 11 venues in 11 days, estimating over 3,000 tickets sold. The festival saw record attendance, engaging discussions, and memorable moments with renowned authors.

The 2025 festival was headlined by biggest selling children’s author David Walliams, beloved television Presenter Lorraine Kelly, all-around entertainer Reverend Richard Coles and bestselling author Louis de Bernières.
