Farnham’s craft roots run deep: evidence of flint-knapping dating back around 7,000 years was found nearby, and in 2020 the town was designated England’s first World Craft Town by the World Craft Council. Today, it remains one of only a handful of World Craft Cities in Europe, recognised for its makers and the important role craft plays in the community.
